Dana Hall School review by Mount Holyoke College student.
I transferred to Dana Hall from a public school for 11th and 12th grade. Prior to Dana Hall, I had learned very little about writing and grammar. My teachers at Dana taught me how to write, and use correct grammar and I would be lost in college without them. I had to catch up a lot and I didn't do well in the beginning because I was behind my peers but the hard work paid off. There were courses offered in all subject areas and there is a course offered in all main subject areas that will challenge even the brightest of students. There are several AP's- the courses offered more than meets the requirements needed for the top colleges in the world.

For the interview, dress conservatively. Try to be very clean and put together. Also, I was a tour guide for two years and at the end of every tour, we were asked to evaluate the candidate so if you think the tour is not apart of the process, you are very wrong. Ask questions and be interested. Also, tip for the parents: the kids speak on the tour. Do not ask their questions for them...
Most younger siblings have an easy time in the admissions process. I can only think of one case of a younger sibling not being admitted. About half of the students who entered with me had come from public schools. The remainder came from private K-6 schools, or had transferred from other New York private schools The Elizabeth Morrow School and St. Bernard were two of the larger feeder schools...
I was a boarding student at Dana Hall- it's about 50% boarding. I loved the proximity to Boston. It was a 40 minute train ride right into safe, beautiful and fun Boston. On weekends many girls travel into Boston for dinner, concerts or shopping! Wellesley also is a great town with cute shops, good ice cream, bike paths etc... I really miss being in Wellesley. I loved my dorm family and my roommate we are still best friends! ...
