Peddie School review by Barnard College student.
Academically, Peddie was great. The classes were small with a maximum of 15 students, so each student receives attention from the teacher and is able to build a relationship with them. The faculty definitely cared about the well being of the students and were always available for help. With two new buildings added/renovated, the facilities have highly improved, and most classrooms contain extremely high tech equipment that are very helpful to the teachers and students. The classes were challenging and required a lot of work, which prepare you well for college -- because the classes seem easier than at Peddie. Peddie offers a great variety of teachers who each differ in their teaching method, most of which I took for granted. They teach in a very subtle way and try to make learning as fun as possible.

They have contacts at most of the major universities and feel perfectly comfortable picking up the phone and advocating for a student to get accepted somewhere they feel is a good fit for that student. For the interview, dress conservatively. Try to be very clean and put together. Also, I was a tour guide for two years and at the end of every tour, we were asked to evaluate the candidate so if you think the tour is not apart of the process, you are very wrong. Ask questions and be interested. Also, tip for the parents: the kids speak on the tour. Do not ask their questions for them...
Most younger siblings have an easy time in the admissions process. I can only think of one case of a younger sibling not being admitted. About half of the students who entered with me had come from public schools. The remainder came from private K-6 schools, or had transferred from other New York private schools The Elizabeth Morrow School and St. Bernard were two of the larger feeder schools...
Campus housing if very nice. Although freshman rooms are a little small, they are comfortable. The campus is very safe, constantly patrolled by security guards, with 2 or more faculty members living in each building. The school hosts many social events, such as fun theme night dinners in the dining hall and dances. Hightstown is a nice town, with lots of restaurants in walking distance of the school. The rules are strict and ensure that students are safely in their beds every night. The campus life was very enjoyable and entertaining. Dorms had parties and events to promote bonding.....
